Hello
Happy New Year for 2020!
EXTRA SPECIAL NEWS
In 2004, Newcomers Network surveyed 541 people worldwide and produced a Newcomers Kit. We plan to run the same survey again (with five additional questions) very soon to compare the results 15 years later – so please watch out for your request to participate or forward to a newcomer! Sue Ellson will be presenting the findings at the 2020 Families in Global Transition (FIGT) Conference in Bangkok, Thailand on 13 March 2020.
Living, Working and Networking in Melbourne – Second Wednesday Monthly Wednesday 8 January 2020 12:00pm – 1:30pm $0 to attend, pay for your own refreshments
Information session hosted by me, Sue Ellson at the Lanai Bar, Level 1, 113 Queen Street, Melbourne (corner of Little Collins Street) – go up the stairs and we are usually in the area to the left or right at the back (look for the Newcomers Network banner, ask at the bar or call the mobile +61 402 243 271 if you can’t find the group). You will meet new people and learn a lot about living, working and networking in Melbourne (and a bit about LinkedIn too). Reserve your place at https://livingworkingandnetworkinginmelbourne.eventbrite.com.au – you may also like to stay a bit longer and enjoy some lunch with the other guests! **Please note this is now a midday event – not in the evening, but still on the Second Wednesday of every month**

Recent Bushfires
I was recently advised by a person I know living in regional Victoria that bushfire affected communities source up to 70% of their income from tourism which will be greatly affected by the catastrophic bushfires. If you can find a way to support these communities in the future, in your unique way, I encourage you to do so.
